opened fire

i dislike those two words in tandem. i see and hear it often in the news these days. the one brandishing the gun - usually deranged with a gripe, loner and teased, religious political fanatic. the victim - always unsuspecting and defenseless against the premeditated. happens at schools, malls, dusty huts, front lines. and the perpetrator opens fire because they bullied, they believed a different god, they came from a different region, they spoke another dialect. of course the past tense means bodies and blood. it happens too much nowadays. too much.

please, don't open fire. daisies and lennon and love instead.
